2005 342.....I opened up my dash to work on my gages and was curious as to what this round item is? Some of the wires from it go to the sync gage, the rest into the wire loop.

x2 sync gauge when faira rebuilt my tachs 3 years ago they sent me a extra one back. I mean I sent them my tachs and they sent my tachs back and the sync thingy.

@rasbury is right. Before you screw the panel back on throw a banana peel in there then put the panel back on.

I was gonna guess an inclinemeter. It sends out a warning if you flip your boat.

Lol, i figured he wouldn't mind after the smart guys gave him the correct answer.  

Although these smart boats with auto pilot, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a sensor for when the boat was falling off plane and added throttle as needed to maintain on plane as conditions changed.
