Bravo 2 gear engaging question

So i tried a smaller pitch prop and it sucked.  I lost about 3 knots of speed.

I had my other prop in the trunk so I just changed them in the water.

I had the admiral lock the shifter in forward to loosen the nut.  I then had her shift into neutral to tighten and it wouldnt lock.  I had to hold the prop with my shoe and a rag to torque her down.

I have no issues going into reverse. My alpha would lock in either directiom.  Do I have a shift adjustment issue or does my bravo just not lock in reverse?

Thanks ahead of time!

Good to know.  I usually do a prop swap on the trailer, wood 6x6 blocks on each side of the prop.  I just know my alpha locked in each direction because that's how I tested the shifting when I changed the lower shift cable.

I am in the water for 5 days and i wasn't going to deal with that prop.  Sadly im past my 7 day return.  I was going to test last weekend but the ac install took near 2 days thanks to trips back and forth to various hardware stores.
