Suggestions for marine speakers to replace my Sonys?

Anyone found a more robust marine speaker alternative to the Sonys my 2015 Captiva 276BR came with?  Both overhead speakers have warped and cracked membranes and the ratings on the Sony replacements say the new ones will experience the same failure within a year or two.

You'll get a lot of opinions here, but all will agree that the Sony marine speakers are just worthless.  I have WetSounds and love them.

I have kicker speakers and have been pretty impressed.  I didnt choose them. PO did but still impressed.

Very happy with my Polk DB-652s for the money.

On our 276BR I replaced the head unit then did all the speakers with Kicker. Worked really well.

JL 7.7s will give you the most full and balanced sound, if you have room to mount them.

Agree, I’m on the JL bandwagon now. But more than happy with the Kicker products.

Not fond of Sony marine stuff at all.

Im not fond of any Sony products although their amps are ok in automotive applications(being in fresh water and not stored on water i dont run marine grade amps or head units).  

Polk or kenwood are my go to budget  marine speakers.  With a properly adjusted amp you can get some quality sound and plenty loud for my tastes.  A good head unit that has good equalizer options also goes a long way to making cheaper speakers sound better.  I usually shop on Amazon or online retailer for good deals, open box specials, etc

JL doesn't always make the best of any given product in their line but I've yet to run into anyting that wasn't good.   If JL is in your budget that's where id go.

I bought all kenwood speakers in the winter.  Good price, sound and quality.  I boat with someone that bought them 5 years ago and still holding up well.

The admiral bought me 8 inch kenwood 2 or 3 way marinespeakers for xmas a few years ago.  On a cheap amp they sounded really good. Sadly they went with the rinker when I sold it.

Same here, my Kenwood speakers are 10 years and sound just as good as new.

I use Infinity 622M's and they've been great. I kick the crap out of them and havent had any failures.

Replaced mine with JL. Very happy with them
