Bimini metalwork covers

Greetings. My buddy with a Bayliner has wrap around covers on the supports of his Bimini (came on the boat) and looking for the same for mine. They are a soft cover, blue with a Velcro strip you wrap around and holds in place, The admiral found 14” and 18” dock line chafing protectors on amazon but they only fit up to 3/4” line and the supports are an inch. Plus I need more than the 18” on the long sides. I opened a couple of his up looking for a tag to no avail.

Any idea/thoughts on these?

What are they for? To protect isinglass?
