Supports with snap fasteners on the tip

Hi. 

I found two supports with snap fasteners on the tip in the midcabin of my new 2000 270 FV. I have no idea what is the usage for that guys. 

Can anybody explame me (eg with a photo) for what they are good for?

Supports for a cockpit cover.

Yea. I assumed its for the camper tent. But it's not.

The cockpit cover is different from the camper tent.  It hangs about 3 feet above the floor.  That post supports the center of the cover so the rain can drain off.
