Simpson Lawrence Windlass Rode/chain stripper replacement

Hi all, have you ever run into the problem of your rode getting wound up around your windlass and jamming it up? If so, it is probably because the stripper (more formally known as a “fleming”) probably broke allowing your rode to wind around the gypsy. Replacing it is not too hard but given I have now done it 3 times I thought I would make a video to walk you through the steps

Replacement of rode/chain stripper (more formally named a “fleming”) on a Simpson Lawrence Horizon 500 windlass. For this I used a $35 plastic version which is the standard that comes with the windlass but if your can find a stainless version I would recommend that instead. You will need either a M5x20mm stainless bolt (I cannot recall which it was) and I recommend getting a hex socket head instead of the Phillips head it comes with as that makes it easier to remove
