battery not charging

I have a rinker 260 cruiser i just bought.The number one battery will not charge from the engine.The volt meter is flat while on #1 battery but works fine on #2.Number one will charge if generator is running or on shore power.Any ideas?Thanks

check the battery isolater also I don't know about the 260 but on my 270 behind the battery switch there are 2 30 amp fuses you have to take the 4 screws out and look behind to find them

I think @GMSLITHO is probably right -- bad isolator.  @bigmoteese1952 if you're not familiar with it -- look for a small box maybe 4" wide.  It will have a wire coming in from the alternator, and two wires going out to the batteries/charger.
