2008 Rinker 330 EC - Seacore sterndrives

BmaggiacBmaggiac Member Posts: 19
I just bought a 2008 Rinker 330 EC. The sterndrives are Seacore. I attached a picture of the drives. There is a hose running from the top of the drives down the back as you can see from the attached picture. Don't know anything about Seacore. What is this hose do?

Drive shower. Helps keep the drive cool. The cooler the drive the longer it will last. In theory anyway.  The big hp guys swear by them.

When your on plane the top of the drives will be out of the water and since water absorbs heat better than air it will keep them covered in water.

They’re an aftermarket add on. Take a look at the top of the line, it looks like it’s kinked, you might want to correct that to get more water flow.

There has been a long-running debate here about whether drive showers provide any benefit for express cruisers with off-the-shelf power plants.  They don't hurt anything, other than adding maintenance.

Was this boat kept on a lift?  Those drives look pretty good for 12 seasons!
