Here is the ultimate: Cruise around the Greek Islands then over to Italy and Sardinia then cruise over to the French Riviera.

History began on July 4th, 1776. Everything before that was a mistake.  My lungs are not able to process stale socialist air.

Ha ha. Ha ha ha. Seriously? Firstly, those are all democratic countries, some more bit social leaning, sure, but with more history, culture, good food and friendlier people than almost anywhere in the world. You are exactly the kind of person that should travel  to get your eyes opened.
    On second thought...just stay home.

I'm not being serious.  Ron Swanson quotes.  I figured you of all people would pick up on a Ron Swanson quote
Ahh. Ya got me. Sorry man. No, not a Ron Swanson guy so missed the reference.
Most of my family didn't arrive in this country until right around ww1.  They were all Irish immigrants.   I have tons of culture like drinking all night, working all day and dancing without moving anyting but my legs and feet. Also my favorite flower is the potatoe.

Ahh. That guy. Seen the memes on FB but never saw him live or on whatever show he was on. Most of my TV is documentary or old mystery movies.

Sorry, I'd normally catch that. Being currently boatless I'm sitting in my garage drinking since I have no winterizing to do.

I realize that Italy is a democratic republic but it's an American misconception they are communist or socialist. Just like many Americans think usa won
the gold medal when they beat the Soviets back in 1980 when it was Finland the next game they beat for the gold.

Anyone that lives in the Western United States, you NEED to come visit Lake Powell.  I'm here 8-10 times a year.  There isn't a place, that rivals it's beauty!  B)
    Water is too low
@Handymans342 Lake Powell is well over 500 feet deep in many places.  It is a 186 mile long lake, or reservoir.  I assure you, your old 342 would blend right in.  There are Houseboats over 130 feet long now.  Really not my cup of tea....I like moving campsites every day.  Very easy to do with a 232 cuddy!

Wasn't the Silverton aluminum?  Light weight so terrific fuel consumption but a little bumpy and rocky in less than ideal seas?    Seems like a perfect crusier,  crusing is a fair weather sport.  If the weather sucks stay at the docks or in a protected achirshr

The Silverton I was on was fiberglass unless you mean stringers and what-not. Maybe the older ones might have been?

I didn't mean to get you all wound up @willhound. Just seems like a comment handy would say to a European waiter after sub par service.  And handy is my personal hero.

So all of you who have Erie on your bucket list, does that water ever warm up? I've been there twice, both times in August/July and the water was cold both times.

Yes!  Overlooking the lake, and the Marina.  There are no "boat tours" for the tourists this year, due to Covid though.  That normally is a great way to see the lake, when you don't have your own there.  Many amazing sites to see in the surrounding area as well.

Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, The Grand Canyon, Zion, all of these are super close to Lake Powell.  I am blessed to live so close.  There is NO lake, that rivals Powell for beauty, or fishing opportunity in the entire Southwest  B)

I've read many reports on the mass exodus of Californians. Usually people tired of high taxes, strict regulations and im sure the overwheming continued lock down.  Texas and other states have worried what a large influx of the Californians will do to their state.

I've heard the same reports of exodus in NYC.

Largemouth, Smallmouth Bass, Stripers, Walleye, Crappy, Catfish, Bluegill, Carp. It isn't a trophy sized habit for fish, because of fluctuating water levels every year.  But Lake Powell provides excellent fishing.  Getting into a Striper Boil, and having an entire cove erupting on the surface is life changing haha.

I went fishing for Striper in Lake Pleasant when I lived there. That was some of the best fishing I did, this is back in 2014.
