Thru Hull Question

I was reading an article by Steve D'Antonio the other day where he stated that a lot of thru hulls that he encounters use nps and npt threaded components. I am wondering if anyone has taken the genset thru hull (as shown) apart and can tell me if the threads are compatible or not. This is for a genset on a 2011 360. Thanks.
