Trim tabs

We’ve discussed flipping some model trim tabs so the “wings” are facing down to help with lift in the past. This is the second bayliner I came across in two days with tabs like this. The wings are HUGE! My ‘08 330’s tabs are installed with the wings down, but there not even close to the size of these.

my tabs are 18 wide by approx 11 deep.  Im sure it's for lift.  The fins may help tracking at idle no wake speeds when down as well. Lift plus extra bite.


So add another bayliner to your list.

I am adding wings like that to my tabs this winter which will face down. Defender sells a kit to add them. Gives you a lot more lift when you want it.

Those aren't wings aero, they are more of a winglet 😉

Yeah I have those. The admiral says it’s not how big they are that matters but rather how I use them.

LoL, true @YYZRC ! But I’m guessing your wife never used trim tabs before!?

@aero3113 my tabs are like yours.  Pretty sure my Bayliner 285 had wings like your 1st photo.  Could that just be the difference in design between Bennett and Lenco?  Bayliner used Benetts.

@Liberty44140. Where at Defender did you find the winglet kits?  I was not able to find them sesrching trim tabs on their site.  Guessing I am searching wrong.
