In addition to a few other minor issues, I don't think the fuel gauge on our 96 Festiva 212 is reliable. I am using Great Lakes Skipper to find parts..but often strike out. Any thoughts?
not really sure yet. Picked up boat this spring...marina mechanic took a look at wiring, tested it, and said it should be OK. Maybe my expectations are too high. Should I expect the gauge to fluctuate while underway?
Some gauges only read to the nearest 1/8 tank. Instead of dropping slowly as you use fuel, it will read 3/4, then suddenly drop to 5/8. You can check this next time you fill the tank. Either watch the gauge, or set up a cell phone to take time-lapse video.
If the the gauge is randomly going to zero and back, I'd guess it's a gauge issue. You might check the plugs on the back of the gauge, and/or the wire connections at the sender.
