What’s up?

My 1998, 266 with 7.4; B-3 temp is not showing the temp. Had thermostat replaced in spring, worked fine. I got stuck in shallow water one afternoon temp came up after being pulled off the sand. A few days later no temp...new thermostat, still no temp reading. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

A thermostat will not cause this problem. One of two things, either a bad sending unit or a bad gauge. To check the gauge go to the sending unit and take the wire off of it and hold it to ground and see if the gauge pins all the way up. If not its the gauge. If it does then its the sending unit. Hope this helps.

It’s possible that the wire came disconnected either on the sending unit or the gauge.
