1996 Rinker Festiva 212 Cuddy Hydrofoils - Yes or No!

Hi Folks
Have done some research on hydrofoils, vs trim tabs (which are not compatible with my boat).  I'm not seeing it, but based on your collective experience, is there a down side to installing a hydrofoil?  Stingray recommends their "Classic Pro" model.  Of course I understand that the rep that answered my email is in the business of selling product, and may not have my best interest as a priority!  Thanks

I always had them on my outboards with good results but never tried on an outdrive. It shouldn’t hurt anything and worth a try. Beware of using dissimilar metals with the bolts. Can you get aluminum fasteners?

Had one on my fiesta vee 235.  5.7 alpha one. Never had to use tabs to plane even fully loaded for a weekend aboard.

Put one on my 28ft current boat to assist with plane time and to keep the nose down.

Stainless bolts are probably less of an issue than a stainless prop as far as dis similar metals go....most of us run those and pay big money to do so.
