Thanks for the post MT. I've always used the inline filter when filling the tank. I throw it out at the end of each season. Whenever I'm in the US, I pick up the double pack of refill cartridges ( just the cartridge, no hose extension or coil). Walmart sells them for about $22 for the 2!
The only downfall to a carbon filter it it removes chlorine. So the water in your tank is missing it for safe keeping, if you just use your city water hookup, then less of an issue. Just my .02.
I like the peroxide idea! So thank you for that tip. I always run my potable water hose for a few min before I fill the tank for some of the reasons you mention.
