This is an 89 Albin 50 foot. Only 2 of these were ever made. Twin staterooms and twin 3208 Cats. This boat belongs to a friend of mine here in Ft Myers. He is asking $90000. Just wanted to show you a nice boat for the money. Jeff? Dream??? Chris?? Albin builds a very solid boat.

Call me old fashioned, but I just love the look of those older boats. All the wood looks great! Lot's of work though. Very well kept looking boat.

I like it! Would be a great boat to live aboard and cruise for a few years. Looks like the 3208s are the 375hp which is good, the 425 was too much for that block. Very well kept!

I think it would be a great boat to get into at this price for a first time trawler owner before they jump into a bigger or pricier trawler

You could buy it Randy and rent it out as an Airbnb. Slip is 700 a month.

Geez. $90,000 and $700/MTH is cheaper than some condo's I've looked at.

Wow, wish I could go for it, that would be amazing to live on. Slips are 20/ft here + liveaboard fees. 1000/month wouldn't be that bad, if there wasn't a 90k loan on top of it!

Yeah, but you'll get $30,000 for your 270....

I'm hoping for 20k. It still has that noise in Neutral. :( It is on light duty for now.. just use it to crash on it at the dock and take it to an island that is 5 mins from the canal... with the amount of work put into finding the noise, still have no idea what it is.

When cold there is no noise no matter what position the gear selector is in.

When warm there is a knocking noise only in N.

Have had a mechanic look at it while it's in the water, he says the shaft looks fine, doesn't move at all no matter what gear it is in.

One person suggest it was some kind of plate that is on the back side of the hub..but they would need to take the motor out again to get in there. At this point I'm willing to drop the price to let the new owner take that on. It's fine for what I need it for right now.

I knew you would like it. Heck if i wasnt in my RV I would buy it and live on the water.

@J3ff Old school mechanics use to use a long handle screw driver to find a tick or knock. To help diagnose the problem. Put the blade of screw driver firmly on engine then handle tightly on your ear. Move the screw driver around till you find the noise the loudest. There you will find your problem.

@J3ff any chance the noise is an exhaust manifold gasket leaking? This has tricked a lot of people....

Nice boat. Needs $40k in electronics..or more 😆

personally I’d never touch a salt water boat though.

    Albins were built for salt

@Black_Diamond , there’s more salt water boats then fresh water boats, it’s all about how they’ve been maintained.... but if I had a chance to buy a fresh water boat I would be all over it.

@aero3113. For sure on the maintenance...the salt just gets into everything eventually. There is a reason so many boat buyers down south look for boats out of the Great Lakes region.

That would be a perfect loop boat. It just needs a bigger fridge.

This one has been for sale on the west coast for a long time. So apparently they won't go for 100k plus on the west. This one only has the little Perkins 140HP though 😕

Sounds like a win on both sides. Congrats to seller and buyer. Great livaboard or looper!

So my wife says to me this afternoon, she would not mind a boat that we could walk on to at the slip and be ready to go but the 270 was to small with our grandaughter....anyone have smelling salts or something for me?
We went to a boat show in daytona a couple years back..we had the 270...and there was a fly bridge 30 for the same 50 I thought she was going to buy...
