350 MAG - HP Rating?

YYZRCYYZRC Member Posts: 5,462 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've seen hp ratings of 300hp and 350hp, I assume it is 300hp in a 2008?

Thanks

300hp, for the MAG back in 2008.

There was also a 377 MAG at around that time with 320hp.

The newer 6.2L MAG motors from 2015(?) Could be had in either 300hp or 350hp.

Only reason I know about the 260 HP 5.7 is because that’s what they had on my insurance paperwork. I had to have them change it to 300 HP. Something to check when you review your policy...

The 5.7L EFI TBI Gen 2 was 260 HP. What I had in my 2000 FV270. Basically a mid80's Chevy Throttle Body motor.

A "standard" 5.7 is still a 350 motor, but not a MAG.  260hp vs. 300hp on the MAG

The 260hp in the 270 must be a real pig.  The 350 mag I have in that boat isn't very good either.

I didn't find it so. On plane with 4 people and gear in about 10 seconds. Cruise at around 22-24 mph at around 32 - 3400 RPM. Top out at 42 mph. Not a rocket ship but suited me just fine.

I just checked some pics I had and edited my speed at 3200-3400 RPM. 27-28 mph was around 3800 RPM. No bottom paint, full fuel and water tanks.

Nope. A skull and crossbones I brought back from Florida that says "What Goes on Board, Stays on Board". Was later replaced with the burgee for the Canadian Power Squadron when I joined that.
