Captiva 186 Propeller Selection

Acquired this 1990 unit in excellent condition 2 seasons ago. Has 4.3L v6 Alpha One with what appears to be original Michigan 13.5" diameter 21 pitch prop. Engine runs great, but only get about 32 mph at 4500 rpm. Seeking improved overall performance, not skewed towards low or top end. Would appreciate guidance in terms of prop configuration and brand. Thanks.

    Recommended rpm for your motor is 4200 - 4800. You should benefit from a switch to a 19” prop. Should gain about 200 rpm. Had same setup on a 19’ Mariah and that’s what I ran. Used 14 1/2”x19” quicksilver black diamond aluminum. Topped out around 48mph. Many things can affect your top speed (dirty bottom, load on board, wet foam floatation, ect.) hope this helps
