Fresh water pump cycling

Hey there my cabin water pump keeps coming on for a few seconds, every 20 seconds. Cant seem to find any leaks anywhere, dont think i have an accumulator. Any troubleshooting advice or references would be appreciated.

Sometimes it will do that when there is a low water level in the tank. Try filling it and see if it stops. There is a thread about this same issue and potential solutions here...

Thanks for the advice, the tank is nearly full though. It shuts off for about 20 seconds, then runs for 2 seconds. Im hooked to shore power also.

Make sure your transom shower is fully off. That one has gotten me in the past.

To cycle every 20 seconds, it would be enough of a leak to affect tank levels.  Check the tank level in your fresh water tank and holding tank, then check again after a couple days.  If they don't change, the leak is probably in the pump, not the plumbing.

If the diaphragm in the pump was bad or some other seal would it just leak back in the system and not show an external leak?

That's what I'm thinking.  If it's emptying the fresh water tank, there's a toilet leak or some other plumbing leak.  If it's not emptying the tank, replace the pump.

I had a loose coupling on the inline water filter right where it mounts on the water pump. The leak would cause the pump to keep cycling every 30 sec.
It would slowly drain the fresh water tank into the bilge over about 2 weeks. Took a long time to find the leak.
Finally found it when the pink was poured in the fresh water tank for winterizing.
Maybe try the pink - for a leak indicator?

The fresh water connections always says 'hand tighten only'. They need a smidge more than that...

The water can leak back thru the pump into the tank just enough to kick on the pump. Happens in RVs a lot.
