Bilge Pumps (Johnson 2200-Rule 2000 Gold)!

I need a new bilge pump my rule 1000 automatic bilge pump fail in less of a year, so I want to install a new 2000 gallon non automatic with a senior ultra float switch, but I am diverting about the johnson or the rule one. Any advice will be appreciated. Thx

I have had good luck with Rule pumps.  How did your old pump fail?  That's not common.

It stop working in auto, the new rules 1000 gallon new style are not good.

Oh, I see -- it has a built-in switch.  Rinker built my boat using a Rule 1100 non-automatic pump with an external float switch.  I replaced them with the same parts.

How long do the automatic ones that cycle every few mins last? I would like to upgrade my bilge pump as well.

Why is it cycling so much?

As I understand it, there are two types of automatic bilge pumps. One type uses a float switch.  The other type cycles and if it detects water pressure it runs.

@oscar1 - Did you ever get a replacement pump - and what was it? I'm thinking about getting that same switch (Ultra Safety Systems Ultimate Jr) - but now looking at a pump to match with it.

I installed a 2000 gallon rules pump plus the ultra safety senior switch, because it has a build hight water alarm into the switch using an external panel at the helm.
