Captain's Chair project

I'd also posted here looking for advice on re-securing the base of the captain's chair to the deck. I bought some toggle bolts, but decided instead to go with 2 inch lag bolts. Did a test drill on the deck to ensure there was wood under the fiberglass, then rotated the base about ten degrees, and pre-drilled for the bolts. Also used marine caulking to fill the old holes and the new holes. Seems pretty sturdy. Time will tell. Plan B will be to cut out a small square hatch, forward of the base, and use bolts and nuts.
Thanks again for the advice.
