2007 Rinker 280 Express, single 5.7 Volvo Penta Engine

anyone know what voltages should be at different revs at the battery when engine is running, also what is the purpose of the plug in connector in position L on the back of the alternator 

any help appreciated

L terminal is typically for warning lamp.

Not sure about voltages but I'm happy if I'm seeing 13.5.

And a max of 14.5.


My alternator won't put out voltage at idle if she's sat for a while, if I bump the throttle slightly she'll start charge properly at all rpms.
