242 FV install a Lewmar V700 windlass

Hello.

I am thinking of installing a Lewmar V700 windlass on my 2001 242 FV - My question is do I need to strengthening the deck to take the windlass? If so, what is the best way of strengthening it please?

backing plates are an excellent idea!  Spread the load.
