Help with intermittent starting on my 99 Rinker Captiva 182

I have a 99 Rinker Captiva 182. It has a Quicksilver 3000 Classic throttle mechanism. When I go to start, I have to wiggle the throttle before I can get it to engage starter. Is there a neural safety switch I should replace or possibly the stop switch?
