Head backflow

2007 280 EC with Jabsco manual head. Flushes fine, then the head gurgles and backflows. No matter if the valve is closed or open. It's not new seawater. It is effluent.

Any thoughts? It stinks.

Replace the joker valve. That's all.

Disconnect the big hose at the bottom of the pump. Remove the rubber valve that looks like a triangle cross section. Replace. $20 at most marine shops

Plastic part has 2 screws in it looks like a thermostat housing

Thanks, all.  I assumed it was some sort of check valve. Boomer, thanks for the picture, and Browncbr1, appreciate the instructions!

Yes it's a check valve the rubber just gets lazy and stays open best to order about 3 it cost as much to ship 1 as it does 3 I go through at least one a year
