Engine Hatch Override - 2009 340EC

Asking for a friend. His house batteries went dead. Reason unknown until we can get into engine compartment with multimeter.  Without DC power he can’t open it. Does anyone know how the manual override opening works?

Attach a battery or jumper box to the posts in the battery selector box.

He might need to turn on the battery switches and helm power switch first.
