Anyone had this?

Happened yesterday on a trip up the river at fairly low RPM but had been up on plane and off a few times on the trip, double beeps each minute, VVM showed the screen shot. All looked good, no drop in RPM or anything else so wound her up to on plane and 3500 or so and no issues. After I got to my destination 1/2 hour later, shutdown and when cooled, all looked fine. Ran her up for 10 minutes, no issue and ran her back today for 2 hours, on and off plane, no issues. Thinking connection or intermittent sensor, thoughts?

Well it happened again. Started up Saturday for warm up before a short trip and about to cast off and port beeps twice and engine stops. I was getting back to helm and wondered if I bumped the key as it started right up and nothing more. VVM showed no alerts and the trip north for 15 miles was uneventful.

Sunday - coming from overnight back to club at around 3400 on plane at 27mph and then I get 2 beeps but nothing happens with engines - running well, not a blip. VVM shows an alert banner (red top border) and shows the same as above. Silenced and blocked the alert on VVM (that didn’t stop the 1 minute double beeps) and given that the last time thIs happened the beeps went away after shutdown and seeing as I needed to drop to no wake to pass docks, for sh^ts and grins I shut off port and restarted - no more beeps. Cleared the VVM block, nothing came through and a quieter ride the last few miles.

All I can think of is an intermittent connector/wire issue where the ECM is not getting some feedback from the pump as she was running fine. Back at dock when cooled down, I popped the arrestor cover and deplugged and plugged the ECM connectors a few times in case there was anything on pins but I’ll take a closer look when dressed for crawling into the engine room.

    Any other ideas guys?

2 beeps every minutes is a sensor issue I believe.  IAC, MAP ect...  There's too many to just start replacing them all though.  Can you get the engine scanned by a diagnostic tool?

From a fault list for Merc outboards ... note the "draft" markings and "do not send to dealers" so take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah, understand but the context of the error message is the oddity. It suggests there is something on the pump not reporting back but my mechanic said there is no sensor on the pump. I’ll get him to scan when I take it over to be hauled and winterized as I usually do.

Just thought I’d ask here in case it had been seen before.

Hmm, maybe onto something @LaRae as I have had a couple of fuel and master relay issues in the past. Perhaps the scan will reveal…
