@PickleRick , this looks like a good project for you. Some elbow grease, figure out what it needs and flip it! Closed cooling also 👍🏻

Wow.  Somebody's about to pay $6000 too much for that boat.

Looks like a great boat....I just need the yard space.

The last 1st gen 4 runner i bought to flip is now apparently a farther/son resto-mod project for  my 13yr olds first vehicle

Its turning out to be more father work than son

@PickleRick , put the 4 runner in storage for a couple of months! Do you know the return you can make on that boat!! LoL. You can buy your son a new 4 runner and keep the old one for yourself!

If I had a trailer that would haul/store it I'd be all over it.

If you don’t need to move it all you need are some cinderblocks. Hauler cost wouldn’t be too much for you.

I’m jealous that this 330 has a separate shower in the head!

Maybe a dumb question but why was there a “342”? What did the 2 signify?

I am sure that someone else on here will know better. But in my shopping for a Rinker 34 it appeared to me that the 98-99 was the 330 and then 2000-2001 was the 340. Looked to be the same boat, but 340 had a bigger platform. Then the 342's came out in 2002 which looked to have the same hull and deck but a different cockpit and cabin layout, maybe even bigger platform. Would love to hear if those observations/theories are true :)

The two throws me. Why not a 345? Was it 34’2” or 34.2 feet?

I think the LOAs were the same.  The 340 had a problem with falling off plane at low speeds.  The 342 hull added a stern section that generates a lot more lift, so it will stay on plane down to about 17 mph.

@Alswagg will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep 17mph was my min on plane with tabs fully down

Interesting. I wonder why it didn’t just continue as a 340.

The 340 and 342 are different boats, and the 342 is better in almost every way.  Better hull, better cockpit, better cabin, better engine room.  (Apologies to the 340 owners here ... one man's opinion.)

    I get it now. “340 version 2” = 342.

The 342 was obviously not good enough or else handy would still have his instead of his breaking bad style land yacht.

17 mph and still on plane for a boat that size is impressive.  The cruising  range on that hull with diesels has to be impressive at that speed.

Did the 342 come with space for a washer and dryer?

I am completely content with my current boat but living aboard for at least a few years is on my bucket list.  Having a washer and dryer is on the list of the admirals demands.

No space for washer-dryer.  Fuel economy at 17 mph was awful, but it would minimize the abuse of the crew in heavy seas.

I lived on my 342 for almost a full year alone. I have a washer and dryer at work so laundry wasn't a big deal.  The stove $ucks to cook on. Other than that all was good.
