. I posted a query about a 5e that would not start. It had no spark or fuel. The troubling thing was it started 3x during trouble shooting. But the other 47 times it just turned over. I don’t believe it is LOP sensor as I have replaced oil and filter and checked level w dipstick unscrewed. I am wondering if it could be a faulty rocker switch and control board, hence the intermittent start 3 times. When I rock it back and forth it doesn’t seem to really click. My question to you would the rocker switch cause the unit to not start but indeed turn over?  And if the the panel rocker was defective would the remote switch suffice and essentially bypass the panel switch?  Perhaps I’m grasping at straws but I am really scratching my head in this one. - clear

Can't recall -- is this a 5ECD, with the digital display on the front of the generator?  Maybe you've seen my recent posts about how easy it is for the seven front-panel fuse holders to fail, even when the fuses are okay.

Thanks LaRea and Pat310, Indeed I do have the manual and has been helpful, it is not the 5ecd w digital display, I have the 3 fuse panel and have replaced all multiple times, I have replaced the control board, plugs, oil change. The manual does trouble shoot to a section of “replace start/stop” switch at controller but wondered if the remote switch would still start it, even if the panel switch was defective…or does the panel on/run/off switch perhaps lock out remote if defective.   When turning over I get no spark or fuel flow.

Might be worth a shot. Another item might be anti-diesel valve in carb. Not sure if that cuts out spark though

The anti-diesel only cuts off the fuel flow.  The coils on the 5e can go out, 2 would be odd, but it will run one one cyl, just poorly.  

For the fuel flow: there is a filter at the fuel pump inlet. I removed mine. PITA.  I also had the fuel pump electric connection go bad at the connector. It would randomly connect then disconnect and shut down.
