Another bad day at the local marina

This boat caught fire early in the week and sank. It was a live aboard and owner only just made it to safety through flames. Electrical fire from either an overloaded circuit or a space heater. Boat was hauled out yesterday.

How many times a year do we hear about fires caused by live-aboards with space heaters ...

I’m surprised a marina presumably on Lake Ontario would allow a live aboard situation with a vessel like that.

@YYZRC Port Credit Harbour Marina has had liveaboards for as long as I can remember. At the height  there were over 70 boats of one type or another. About 12 this year and we had a sinker a few weeks ago after a freeze and thaw. The local yacht club and other marinas in the area host them to. There are always 2 or 3 that burn out their shorepower connections.

seems like most of the marinas I have visited in FL, well I don't know how they even get insured....
