Bottom paint

Hi guys i just purchase 08 350EC boat was in grate lakes and its going to stay in lake Michigan , boat was never bottom paint looks like they don't power wash either when they take boat out , boat will stay in the slip from May to October , i have survey on the boat no blisters no wet spots , should i just acid wash ? or i should send it and do barrier coat and pain it , my friends on marina have all different opinions , what you guys think ??

    If a simple acid wash would take that off... I'd be tempted to leave as is.

    How long was it in the water as of the picture? Paint is a big PITA and that growth doesn't look bad at all.

    it was siting in the slip the previous owner take boat out maybe 5 times last season

    If all it took was a quick power wash and then a wipe with some acid and a brush.. I personally wouldn't paint it.

    I would leave it also, no paint. See how your first season goes.

    I agree with Aero. Try it first year with no paint.  Once paint goes on, hard to undo it

    so just washed hmm,, i have divers on the dock, I was thinking to hire them to clean the bottom couple times

    That’s a bit worse than what mine looks like after a season on Georgian Bay. Easy cleanup with Starbrite Bottom Cleaner.

    08 350 MerCruiser 350 bravo 3 , 120 hours on the engines 8 hours on the gen , always in Grate Lakes heated storage all the time on the winter

    currently I have 2004 312 fiesta Vee , 600 h on it grate boat 5.0 Volvo penta , no problems , just did new upholstery ,service on the outboards and fresh bottom paint in a week or so , its siting in heated storage so they working on it , and be up for sale

    also I will bring the boat home in beginning of April should I shrink wrap or not ? some guys saying it will not hold , can be a problem , bla ba bla ....l bring a boat from Virginia back in the years in same time they don't shrink wrap , it was ok ,  its 700 miles , idk ??

    You just have to shrink wrap it for shipping (not for storage) - we hauled a wrapped boat that distance no problem.

    Hit it with bottom cleaner and see how it cleans up and if there’s any osmosis. Go from there.

    Mine has been in fresh for a month and pulling out in 30 days...no paint.
