I have to replace one of my courtesy lists on deck...old had a vancy plug in..barrel connectors and call it a day?

What I was trying to say, the old light had a male/female connector. No way you could replace that light bulb on a little circuit board. So I'm replacing the whole thing- use same type connector or just the connector you crimp them together with?

Use heat shrink solder connectors.

@YYZRC I did get my box of connectors but I read you need a heat gun for these...how hot does a heat gun get to melt solder?  Is this a harbor freight item?

Yes you need a heat gun. Cheapest you can find is fine. The solder in the shrink tube is very low melting point.

I usually slide a large piece (4” or so) of shrink tube over the wires first before using the solder shrink connectors. After doing the solder shrink connectors I shrink over both connections with the shrink tube for a reliable connection.

These look really great, thanks for the info- will hit tge HF and get the heat gun..

Instead of a heat gun, i got myself a butane torch off Amazon. Works great and I never need power to run it. Its the size of a vape cig, so it will get in some pretty small places. Just a thought.

I do that on shrink wrap connectors but these don't look like they would take that much heat...
