What I was trying to say, the old light had a male/female connector. No way you could replace that light bulb on a little circuit board. So I'm replacing the whole thing- use same type connector or just the connector you crimp them together with?
@YYZRC I did get my box of connectors but I read you need a heat gun for these...how hot does a heat gun get to melt solder? Is this a harbor freight item?
I usually slide a large piece (4” or so) of shrink tube over the wires first before using the solder shrink connectors. After doing the solder shrink connectors I shrink over both connections with the shrink tube for a reliable connection.
Instead of a heat gun, i got myself a butane torch off Amazon. Works great and I never need power to run it. Its the size of a vape cig, so it will get in some pretty small places. Just a thought.
