Outdrive Tilt switch

So I added the mercruiser remote tilt switch to my boat and i have the volvo penta 8.1 and now the remote tilt switch works great but now the tilt/trim switch on the throttle doesnt work. I matched wire coloring to both connectors, any idea why throttle trim/tilt not working?
