Extra line break(s) when you @mention a username

I noticed that whenever I @mention a username, the forum now inserts an extra line break (or a whole bunch of them) after the username.  For example, if I mention @raybo3 it inserts about 20 line breaks.  Been seeing this for a few weeks.  What's up with that?

@MarkB and @LaRea I just typed this in Chrome on a Windows laptop with absolutely no issue. I did update Chrome the other day, but on the other hand, had no issues before updating either. Maybe try clearing cache?

^^^ This one has the major line breaks, about 6" space between "raybo3" and "it inserts about 20 line breaks".  So, it's not just happening any user names, but some trigger it. Raybo is the trouble maker! LOL.

In the message by @Willhound, I see no break after MarkB and one line break after LaRea.  Testing to see what happens with @raybo3 in a sentence ... weird.  No line break after @Willhound but there was a line break after @raybo3 and now it's gone after editing.

Update: or lack of an update. Vanilla is still looking into the problem. They are aware of it but haven't come up with a fix for it yet. I will keep everyone updated as we go along.

Thanks @raybo3.  Sometimes if I put two spaces after the username, it seems to work better, but it's not consistent.

There's another site ... big green egg forum ... I think they also use vanilla ... and I see a similar problem there.

Seems okay here, in the past when is was an issue  it was inconsistent.

Testing @“LaRea” with quotes around the username but not the @ symbol.

Vanilla is still working on it. They will get back to me when it is fixed.

Update: Vanilla got in touch with me and have a fix for the line break problem. Once it's approved they will implement the upgrade. I will keep everyone informed once I hear more.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but it looks like this issue has been resolved. I have not had any updates from Vanilla but it seems like the problem is gone.
