AC PUMP WANTED - LITTLE GIANT 581503

hi all, got a big problem trying to locate one of these pumps.

I ordered and paid for one through Amazon now they just advised not available.

Anyone  know where i can get one . I see Handy is involved in AC, i will pm him as well.

The AC unit works fine but shuts down after a short time as pump get hot in the centre section and has a thermal switch.In my 2001 340 FV the ac unit is located on port side mid ship area.

I am in Australia [240v]  and use transformer for AC .

I have a small business in Vegas so i can get my guy to pay and ship to me no probs.

My 2006 340FV has a March Pump Model # LC-3CP-MD. It's available in both voltages and frequency,

These pumps are kind of garbage from what I hear... 


I switched to one of these and it's nice and quiet...

Wasn't that hard to change over, just two trips to the hardware store!

It's 240 volts guys and 50HZ in Australia if his transformer works he may be ok

The March Pump is available in both voltages and frequency so it's not a problem. Is @J3ff referring to the original pump or the March?

Because its 50HZ it will be about 17% slower than it should be even with a transformer as the X-former will only change the voltage.

thanks everyone for the info and i will contact Marinaire.

When i bought the boat it had two transformers and was a real mess. i have converted everything to 240v or battery power except for the AC which runs via the transformer when on shore power or else i can run it on the generator. My engineer says to convert the AC to 240v would also mean also converting fan and condenser etc. Think i will also look at at a new unit , what is the effect if i buy a system rated at 240v 60 hz when our power supply is 240v and 50hz? the AC is working less? but should be ok ?  john

From what I remember from basic electrics Hertz effects the speed of motors, so your fan will run slower.  The seawater pump is rated at 50/60 hz 230 V so it should have little effect. Contact Marinair for advice.

I am not an electrical engineer but I would bet you would have problems trying to run a 60HZ A/C system at 50HZ. Like I said RPMs would be about 17% slower. My thinking would be more of a problem for the compressor unless it's rated for 50HZ......

The specs for this 16KW A/C unit from MarineAir show it is 50/60 HZ, 208-230V. The water flow needed is 400GPH so the 500GPH pump will work.
