Kohler 5E surges and dies

Generator runs for about an hour then start surging and dies and  it won’t start.  Things are already tried are all sensors including the temp sensor replaced. New carburetor, fuel pump, fuel filter, and spark plugs replaced. Two different mechanics and the teck reps all stumped.   Any ideas ?

    When can you restart it? After it cools down?

    I assume oil and coolant levels are good?  Is it under a load when it stalls?  Maybe a bad coil.

    Yes it will restart after that.

    Yes all good.  It’s always been under load it has been very irregular when it shuts off maybe an hour maybe three hours you never know

    If you spray starting fluid on it it will run when it’s hot so it makes me think it’s a fuel issue and not a spark problem

    Yes, definitely sounds like a fuel issue.  I guess it could be anywhere from fuel pick up, fuel line, or filter.  Is your tank fairly full?  I have seen where someone had issues with multiple fuel filters.  Only reason I had mentioned coil was because that will give you problems either under a good load or when it's hot.  But using starting fluid, that is something totally different.  Maybe fuel pump, but you said that was replaced.  Almost like there is air in the fuel line possibly.  Flame arrestor clean?

    Here was my trick, after mucho part replacement: run it less the sound enclosure service panel installed.
