Puppy pee pad recommendations

Yes, we will soon have a new boater on The Third “B” and looking for any recommendations on a pee pad for training purposes, mainly to use overnight in the cockpit but to pop out on the dock. Until he gets a bit older we’ll need to keep away from other dogs and their areas.

Many to choose from on Amazon et al, any suggestions from experience with your 4 legged mates?

We used a piece of artificial turf on the swim platform when Zoe was still with us. Very easy to use and rinse off. Rolls up nicely for storage also.You can train them at home with it.

How did it go with the pee soaking through though? We’ve seen others that have a capture tray. Not overly worried about the swim platform as it can be hosed off but I do have MarineMat on it and unsure of it’s durability from dog pee. Inside the cockpit I’d rather it be captured anyway.

It’s rubbered backed, I would just lean it towards the water and rinse it off with the transom shower.

If you’re wanting a pad for the cockpit, I wouldn’t recommend the turf.

Yeah as I figured. We’ll look at one with a tray of some sort. Figured someone here may have gone through the same and had a recommendation.

I bought this recently. It seems nice , but I can’t speak to how well it works as I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Thanks.  Went for one similar, had catchment tray and 2 sheets of grass so good to use one and hose and dry off the other.
