Boston Lighthouse is the oldest Lighthouse in the country and it is still man operated. Its absolutely gorgeous.

    @raybo3 do you know what year? We’re out in Montauk and the light house was commissioned by George Washington in 1796. First light house in New York State.

    I think it was 1716 and I think it got rebuilt in 1783. I am not positive but a couple guys were talking about it at my club a couple weeks ago. Reason it got rebuilt was because it got blown up by the British when they were leaving Boston after the Revolutionary war. It was a very interesting conversation. One of the guys is a older gentleman who was a school teacher and is very much into history of Boston Harbor and the Islands.
