Air Conditioner Cycles Fan

It seems like my AC unit runs the fan for a few seconds then shuts off, a minute or so later the unit comes back on with the compressor . I’m sure it’s operator error, anyone know why it’s doing this?

Any chance you hit the go button then off again? It will delay a restart. From off or dehumid?

I’d do a master reset and go from there

@Liberty44140 how do you do a master reset? I have a Marine Aire unit.

Book should say. The book for both of my Rinker’s Marine Air units had reset instructions as does the book for my current Cruise Air units. Hope your book tells you what to do. I did have funky fan cycles on the 342 and a master reset resolved it back to factory settings…. But I don’t recall it being exactly as you describe. Honestly what you describe reminds me of what my unit does when I first put it in to dehumidify mode but I’m sure you would know if it was in that mode.

I’ll have to take a look at the book. The unit can be in dehumidifier mode and AC at the same time?

No. When it's in dehumidify mode it displays "HU-1" -- then to put it back into AC mode you need to press the ON/OFF button. From my manual...

    Enter the DEHUMIDIFICATION mode:
Press the Power and Down buttons simultaneously while in the ON
mode. Press the Power button to exit.

DEHUMIDIFICATION mode helps control humidity. During humidity control:
    • The first cycle starts 1 minute after activation.
    • The fan circulates air for 30 minutes at four hour intervals.
    • Air temperature is sampled and recorded.
    • If necessary, a cooling cycle starts and continues until the temperature is lowered 2 °F
(1 °C) or until the cooling cycle runs a maximum of one hour.
    • Four hours after the temperature is satisfied or the cooling cycle times out, the cycle
    repeats.

I also if in dehumid mode and you want to go back to regular A/C mode, power and down will revert versus doing and off then back on.

is this a marin air ? Mine does this when set to auto fan mode and the set tempature is met. It'll put the fan on to move the air I assume.. get a little circulation going.. then when it is SURE that it's too hot, it kicks them both on and cools it down again.

To stop it from doing that just put the fan to a manual setting..
