Aft Bilge pump wiring 2005 320 FV

I went to the aft bilge under the seat cushions to clean/replace the AC seawater filter basket and discovered about 2 inches of nasty standing water. Probably been there for a while and causing the slight musty odor in the cabin.

Does the helm bilge pump switch control both this pump and the one in the engine compartment?

Is there a breaker I should be looking at?

Is there a separate float switch or is this an all in one automatic pump?

If it has a separate float switch, how do I wire an all in one? (having one delivered today)

What else should I know about the bilge and how should I clean up that area?

    On my 2007 320 my helm switch controls both bilge pumps. Originally they both had independent float switches that have since been changed to integrated floats. The new ones have 3 wires, a ground, a switched power and a constant power.

    On my 06 342FV both bilge pumps have float switches and are both manually operated by the bilge switch at the helm. They never totally exhaust all the water from the bilges. Best to flush the area and use a Wetvac to suck it all out.

    Yeah, the bilge pumps will help prevent sinking, but they won't remove nuisance water.  You have to inspect periodically, and do as @Grahamu said.

    I found that the water in the mid-bilge was from two problems, the shower sump pump had failed so the water passively drained and overflowed into the bilge area, where the bilge pump had failed as well. 
    Replaced the sump pump yesterday and the bilge pump today.

    We keep our boat in Babylon where we live and visit the fire Island communities and Connetquot, Bayshore, Patchogue

    Nice @AtlanticJim , we live in Setauket but keep the boat on the south shore in Blue Point. We visit the same spots, I’ll have to keep an eye out for you!
