generator useage

My impeller seemed to be working normal, until I left it on underway. I got to my destination and the generator shut down do to lack of water-flow through exhaust. Coincident or should I not run it underway? I will change the impeller next trip to the marina.

Should run fine under way. Maybe you sucked something up or the impeller was on its way out…

I think it depends on what you mean by underway. It may have trouble getting water if your in plane doing 30mph.

It will run but it does not cycle water out exhaust. I was doing close to 30.

Either the impeller went out, or the coupling that drives the water pump.

Or your intake is clogged.

I am pretty sure it was discharging before I left.
Is cruising at 20 to 30 mph a problem? I am hoping it's the impeller, I have a new one to put in next time I get out to it

20-30 should be fine. I tan my 342 at 29-31mph with the genny running all the time and no problemo
