For those of you that have removed old vinyl decal with an eraser, what did you use to fully clean off the area afterwards, to make it ready for new vinyl decal?
Like @mattie said -- Those solutions will remove the adhesive, but that's only part of the problem. If the vinyl was there more than a couple years, you might need to restore the surrounding area. It might need compounding, or maybe wet-sanding and then compounding. Otherwise, the parts under the vinyl might look different from the rest.
Sounds like your going to put more vinyl back down? Is it a colored hull? If so you for sure have to replace as it would look odd. I'd guess if it's a white hull a quick buff would blend it in. Mine is tan and white.
@rasbury I've taken the vinyl decal off with an eraser that attaches to a drill. It's removed it all without leaving a trace, no shadow, nothing, just the bits of rubber from the eraser that I want to make sure is all gone before I put the new name on. Its going onto the white part.
