Possible Bravo 3 Corrosion

I am in the process of cleaning my props.  (Vinegar works very well.)  But, I noticed some corrosion on the drives as shown in the pics.  Do you think this is a problem?  Seems to be just on the surface and the rest of the drives are fine.  Thanks.

Mine look the exact same. I sanded off the blisters when I reinstalled my props. Considered painting it but there must be a reason that Merc didn’t…?

Heres a pic from when I first got the boat.

@kordo is the boat stored in the water, or trailered?  Salt or fresh?

To me that looks like normal, unavoidable corrosion.  Are you using magnesium anodes?  Are there any bubbles in the black paint?

Yes, using magnesium anodes and no bubbles in the black paint.  Glad to hear it looks normal.  Thanks.

Agree that’s normal for B3 after several years. Bearing carriers should be replaced after 10 yrs. Mine looked like that and then started leaking at 13 yrs resulting in mid summer haul out. Wished that I’d just replaced earlier as they looked bad.

Mine looked like that when I got the boat in 2014. She lived in brackish before being moved to fresh. I painted that part prior to getting it replaced. I would also grease it with Merc anti corrosion grease. Did it help? Who knows. Did it hurt, probably not.
