Help sourcing windshield

Hi Everyone,  Hoping someone can help me with any ideas of where I can source the starboard side glass for my windshield.  Had the unfortunate event of a pole breaking out the glass on this section.  I called Taylor Made and they informed me they no longer supply the windshield for my make, which is a 2020 290 EX.  Find that hard to believe that they no longer supply parts to this new a boat.  Check with Great Lake and nothing.   Any ideas of salvage yards , etc where I may find this glass.?  Any help is much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!  And I'm sorry you've joined in such a bad situation.  If TM won't make the part, you might have to get it custom made.  Is it a curved window?

When mine broke, I made a temporary one from 3/16" Lexan from Home Depot.  I bent it into the original frame.  It looked original and lasted until TM made me a new one.

Also, are you doing an insurance claim?  Mine was around $5k for the part and labor.

If it’s flat, any glass shop can cut it. They can come to the boat or you can make a templet and bring it to them.

@benvenuttioki could you share your contact at Polaris? Maybe they can help...

For a boat that new, and dealer, or former dealer should be able to help. TaylorMade can make it, you might have talked to the wrong division.

Hi,  Yes it is the curved piece and the flat triangle piece.  Looks like the top rail might have gotten bent some also.  Disgusted with the fact they sell you a boat but don't supply the parts on a such a new model.  I originally sent  an online order request with Taylor with the windshield number and their response was it is no longer available , contact a salvage yard or Ocean Dynamics.  I emailed Ocean Dynamics and they responded today, but not sure on where to source the top rail now. Fingers crossed they can help.

Did you try contacting Polaris? They have to be able to satisfy warranty claims and your boat is still under warranty. I realize that this isn’t a warranty repair but they need to be able to provide parts. I believe Rinkers had a 5 year warranty.

Called Rinker.  They are of no help .  Ocean Dynamic is going to get back to me about the glass.  Polaris really dropped the ball on Rinker owners in my opinion.

I made several calls to Polaris numbers and they finally directed to a Rinker customer/owner web site. Sorry, I didn't save the link. I filled out a form and expected nothing back, but Terri contacted me and started a dialog.

Hi,  Yes I have had correspondence with Terri.  She is very fast to reply but at the end of the day Rinker had Taylor Made make their windshields and Taylor will no longer make them.  Not sure if its for every Rinker model or not but for my 2020 they don't.  Wait and see what Ocean Dynamics comes back with.  Was hoping someone might know of a junk yard that may have one as I would think the 280 model would be the same glass.

Think i'd have attorney fire off a letter asking them how they plan to support the product they sold. Believe they have some legal obligations to fulfill.

Terri Gipson is a trusted agent.  She and Randy Rinker were among my earliest contacts at Rinker 15+ years ago.  If Terri says something ain't, it probably ain't.

Unfortunately, no Rinker junkyard exists.  That's a FAQ here.

My glass on my 270 was made by water bonnet which was a company around the corner from me...is that the same as Polaris ?

So got word back from Ocean Dynamics.  10k for the two pieces of glass plus shipping.  Top rail has a bend to it and you cant get the frame pieces so stuck trying to figure out the curve.  Great job Rinker in supporting the boats you sold.  Get this fixed and dump this boat before anything else fails that cant get fixed.

Can you post a pic of your boat and some measurements of the undamaged side? Maybe there was some parts sharing across models that a member can identify.

There must be a way for a local shop to fabricate something for you much less than that.
