Same problem with the Salt Shaker gauges. I tried different tricks to make them more visible at night buy nothing improved the situation. The Faria gauges are sexy looking but fall far short of the mark.
The few times I have boated at night, I resorted to a small flashlight so I could make an occasional scan. Never boated faster than displacement speed at night so that method works pretty good. The GPS and the compass are plenty bright at night.
Actually I did do that. At the top of the range, the gauges were the least unreadable but the other problem the top of the range presented was the "glow" lights on the panel switches were also blazing and I had to put a manila folder folded for the purpose over them to not be blinded by them.
