Help! No power to helm and house

Bad motor was removed from starboard side yesterday. While it was out of the water I wanted to pull the non-working Kohler 5E. Hatch opened when in got there today. After spending better part of the day wrestling the the generator past the port engine to space where missing engine used to sit, I had no power to the helm switches and the house circuits.  Checked the breakers at the battery switches and helm. Nothing doing. Turn key to on on port engine, fuel pump primes and buzzer sounds. Any suggestions on where to begin?

    When you pulled the motor, did you attach the grounds to the other motor?

    Marina removed engine. But power worked before I started. Thinking I knocked something off while working. I removed the batteries to pull generator. Any idea which battery powers helm switches? Weird that helm and house went out together.

    Have you put the house battery back in? No house suggests that’s the starting point.

    @Ian  I did reinstall all the batteries. I think @YYZRC is on to something with switching grounds to other engine. The mechanic may have switched them by just laying them over a stud and I might have knocked them off while working. Going to check that first for sure

    SOLVED @YYZRC hit on the head   The ground block lead normally attaches  to starboard motor. Mechanic must have attach them some temporary way and I must have hit them while working down there. Clipped them together, all good now. Thanks

    Yes, but why did they turn the boat back over to you not working? I'm sure you brought them a where barrel of cash!

    @rasbury they did turn it back to me. While the motor was out, I decided to get the non working generator out to have it looked at because I had a bit more room to work. Boat is still on the hard. Rebuilt long block came in Monday, swapping parts today, hopefully back in water this weekend🤞

    Marina deals with Jasper Engines. I asked about Michigan motors but shipping cost were crazy. Since 5.0 new long blocks are no longer available I went rebuilt ☹️. Discussed new 5.7s but would need complete crate engines and the 17 - 19K each price range was not in the budget
