need a recommendation for an inverter that can detect shore power and integrate to my 110 v outlets.    1200 watts or so.  Want to ditch the generator...

Look into Xantrex.  My RV has a smart charger, that is also a 3000 watt inverter.  It will charge on 110 or 12v from the alternator.

Actually......forget my suggestion completely.  My RV one is absolutely NOT a Marine one.  Bad advice from me, sorry.
