VHF radio upgrade

I want to upgrade the VHF radio on my Rinker 400.  It currently has a remote microphone at the helm station.  I have looked for the main base radio but can’t find it.  I have looked behind the dash, behind the starboard stereo speaker, and the access panel under the helm seat on the starboard side.  I haven’t found the radio behind any of them.  Does anyone know where the main radio was mounted on the 400?

Huh.  On the 370, it's outboard of the helm seat behind the subwoofer, but it's not there on the 400?

LaRea - I removed the subwoofer and did not see the radio.

Did you try to follow the wiring from the remote microphone?  I would imagine that would be a fairly short run.

If it’s a remote box radio, it’s not going to look like a radio, Just a square box.

Here's what the box looks like.  This was six years ago, so memory's kinda fuzzy ... On the 370, I think its a foot or two aft of the subwoofer, and not easy to see unless you stick a camera in there.  I'm not sure if I took this photo before or after I relocated the box.

Thanks for the help. The radio was mounted behind the helm platform and not visible.  The only way to access the unit was by feel.  Needless to say I will be mounting the replacement unit elsewhere.
