I've load tested my battery- but sometimes the key is dead or makes sounds like a bad connection- but everything is clean. The alternator is charging...once started, it operates fine..starter selonoid?

Assuming it's not the neutral safety switch, it could be a bad key switch, slave solenoid (starter relay) near the ECM, or (master) starter solenoid.  I just posted about this hours ago...

Here is a generic key switch.  Definitely check that you don't have a bad switch with the multi-meter; you can alternatively "jump" the terminals with 2 alligator clips to see if the switch is bad.

If jumping the starter solenoid works well, then go "upstream" to the slave solenoid (start relay, as I prefer to more accurately call it) which is next to the other 2 relays near your ECM and engine circuit breaker.  Jump those 2 terminals and if it turns over then I think you found your problem.

    It's #23 in this diagram:
