Grouper is definitely a choice fish.

I can't remember the other one, I think a porgy.  It fillets like a snapper, crappie, bass, grunt.  Doesnt have much meat for it's size but it's a fish no one targets so they are plentiful.  Once it's cooked you can't really tell if it's a snapper or porgy.

I’ve gone diving with and had grouper many a time when on vacation, we don’t get that up here. Porgy we catch (and usually throw back)

Porgy can be found from the keys all the way to New England.  It's a bottom feeder that can taste like iodine based on what it's been feeding on.   If it's in clear water reefs feeding on small fish and  crustaceans then they are probably good.

If I'm catching them in muddy murrels inlet green/brown water where they are constantly doing beach restorations and feeding on worms,  I'm going to toss them back.

We also keep lots of grunts.

I had a leak in the same general area of my VP SX-M on the port side in my 05 360 at the beginning of last season. I just bit the bullet and replaced both. No leaks this season.
